CHIMERA Synopsis Edward L. Singletary, Sr. Something went terribly awry in the womb of his drug-addicted mother
when Marcus was conceived. Against all odds the egg was fertilized by not one, but two sperm and then the embryo split to
form twins, both chimeras, each with two sets of DNA. One of the twins, Marcus, is a mosaic with both testicular and ovarian
tissue and would grow up a true hermaphrodite with dysfunctional male genitalia. As infants the boys are adopted by different
families; neither knowing their child was a twin. Twenty some-odd years later Marcus is picked from line-up by the victim
of a brutal rape. Ashamed and embarrassed to reveal his condition, and convinced he can beat the charges without divulging
his closely held secret, Marcus is convicted and sentenced to prison. Probation officer, Drake O’Connor, an investigator
preparing the sentencing report for the court senses an injustice and works feverously to prove that Marcus is wrongly convicted
of a series of crimes actually perpetrated by the twin he never knew he had. Overcoming bureaucratic resistance officer O’Connor
succeeds in bringing the true perpetrator to justice and freeing Marcus from prison. © 2008 Edward L. Singletary, Sr. All rights reserved
